How Quackoria content is made
Every piece of content on this site has to do at least one of four things: entertain, teach, help, or celebrate ducks.
Who is responsible
Quackoria is run by one person, a duck lover, who sets the standards on this page and is responsible for what is published. He is not a veterinarian or a professional duck keeper, and Quackoria is not a medical, veterinary or official source. More on the About page.
Accuracy and sources
Learn and Care articles are researched against reputable sources: ornithology institutions, veterinary manuals, university and agricultural extension services, specialist waterfowl organisations and published research. Primary and institutional sources come first. A keeper’s own website is cited only for that keeper’s experience, and the article says so. Every source is listed at the bottom of the article.
Handling uncertainty
Where the evidence is mixed, thin or missing, the article says so and names what is not known, rather than choosing the tidier answer.
Care content standard
Care content is held to a higher standard than entertainment content. We never present uncertain information as veterinary diagnosis, and we point readers to a qualified vet where a real animal’s health is involved.
Review dates
An article’s “last reviewed” date is the date its sources were last checked. It changes only after a real check, never to make a page look newer.
Using the information
Every article carries the same notice above its sources: it is written from those sources, it is general information only and not veterinary, medical or professional advice, Quackoria does not offer consultations, and how a reader uses it is their own responsibility.
Corrections
When an error is found — by us or by a reader — it is checked against the sources and corrected.
Use of AI tools
AI tools help draft text, organise research notes, check drafts against their sources and write the code behind the games and tools. They are not a source: every factual claim must be supported by a source listed on the page.
Independence
Quackoria does not sell anything, does not take payment for coverage, and does not publish sponsored posts, paid placements or lists of products to buy. Advertising, where it appears, is placed by Google and never decides what is written. What appears on this site is here because it is accurate, useful or enjoyable.
Originality
Our duck games, duck tools, duck facts and care guides, and the artwork that goes with them, are original Quackoria work. We do not copy other brands’ characters or assets.
