Three lanes, a road that keeps accelerating, and three lives. Cars and cones cost a life; cars you get past are worth five points and bread crumbs are worth twenty-five. That five-to-twenty-five ratio is the whole game, because one crumb is worth five cars, and the crumbs are the only thing on the road you have to actively go and get.

What most players miss is that the cars are not obstacles sitting still on a moving road — they are driving, each at somewhere between a third and two thirds of the road speed. That is why some cars seem to rush at you and others seem to hang there: you are closing on each one at a different rate, and the gap you judged two seconds ago is not the gap you are about to drive into.

There is also a mercy after a crash, and it is more generous than it looks. You get a second and a half of invulnerability, and during it you do not just survive contact — you destroy what you hit. A crash can be turned into a deliberate run straight through the traffic that was about to trap you. The cost is that you forfeit the five points for each car you demolish, since points are only paid for cars that pass you cleanly. Crumbs, however, still count.

How to Play

  • Press Drive to pull out.
  • Change lane to get around the traffic ahead.
  • Every car you pass is worth five points.
  • Bread crumb boxes are worth twenty-five. Take them when the lane is clear.
  • Cars and traffic cones each cost a life. Three lives and the drive is over.

Gameplay tips

  • One lane at a time. Two quick taps in the same direction is how most runs end, because your car is genuinely exposed while it slides between lanes.
  • Cars move at between a third and two thirds of the road speed, so each one closes at a different rate. Judge the gap late, not early.
  • A crumb is worth five cars, but only if the lane is clear. A life is worth far more than twenty-five points.
  • After a crash you have about a second and a half where you destroy anything you touch. Use it to drive through the block you were trapped in rather than sitting still.
  • You can still collect crumbs during that invulnerable moment, so aim it at a crumb if one is in reach.
  • Watch the top of the screen, not your own car. You need to see the gap before it arrives.
  • A car or cone is never spawned into the last open lane near the top, so there is always a way through at the moment things appear. Cars run at different speeds, though, so two can draw level further down — keep a route in mind before you need it.

About the game

Five points for every car that passes you, twenty-five for every bread crumb collected, nothing at all for traffic cones. Three lives, and no way to win — the road simply gets faster until you run out.
The acceleration is steady rather than sudden: the road starts at 170 and gains 4.5 every second, so after a minute it is running at about 440, two and a half times the opening pace. The spawn rate tightens alongside it, from roughly one object every 0.85 seconds down to a floor of one every 0.28 seconds, which it reaches around the one-minute mark. After that, nothing new is added to the difficulty except your own fatigue.
What arrives is weighted: roughly 62 per cent cars, 26 per cent crumbs and 12 per cent cones. One rule sits on top of that: a car or a cone is never dealt into the last lane that is still clear in the top half of the road, so a solid wall across all three lanes is not created. When no lane may take a blocker, that tick gives a crumb instead. Crumbs are still the minority, which is what makes the decision to chase one meaningful.
The invulnerable moment after a crash lasts 1.6 seconds and it clears whatever you touch, so it can be spent as a deliberate battering ram. You lose the five points those cars would have paid, but you can still collect crumbs while it lasts.

Frequently asked questions

What is each thing worth?

Five points for every car you get past, twenty-five for a bread crumb. Traffic cones are worth nothing and cost a life, exactly like a car.

How many lives do I get?

Three. The hearts in the corner show what is left.

Does the road keep getting faster?

Yes. It gains 4.5 speed every second from a start of 170, and the objects arrive more frequently until about a minute in, when the spawn rate hits its floor.

Why can I not be hit just after a crash?

You get about 1.6 seconds of invulnerability. During it you also destroy whatever you touch, though you forfeit the five points those cars would have paid.

Can I collect crumbs while invulnerable?

Yes. The crumb pickup is not affected by the invulnerable window.

Are all three lanes ever blocked?

Not at spawn. A car or cone is never placed into the last lane that is still clear in the top half of the road, and if no lane can take one, a crumb arrives instead. Because cars travel at different speeds, two can still line up further down the road, so it pays to keep an escape route in mind.

Why do some cars seem to come at me so much faster?

Because they are driving at different speeds — anywhere from a third to two thirds of the road speed. Your closing rate is different for every car.
